Just 2 weeks away is our next wedding. Heather will be married March 13th in Burlington.
It is a warm up for us since the wedding season officially starts for us the first weekend in April.
6 weddings booked, it will be a busy month and a great start to the wedding season which officially ends the first week of November.
Heather has chosen a blue and white theme for her winter wedding.
The bridal bouquet & table centres are inspired by the photos above.
We love them!
Our hydrangea are coming in from either NewZeland or Peru and should be great quality.
You have to be very careful which hydrangea your florist chooses for your bouquet's. Yes, this will mean a difference in price but in the end it will save you from wasting money ... read on :)
We have a few different varieties available to us at any given time. Consistently we have a lower grade which is great for vase table centres or even foam if used properly but they do not stand up in bouquets. These particular hydrangea will flop on you in about 2.5 hours and you will be left with a bouquet of mush.
We were once working on a wedding with another florist (quite a hip and trendy shop in Burlington's core) and that florist was not aware of the difference. They had plans to decorate the wedding cake with hydrangea but it was to be laid around the cake with no water source ( the hydrangea).
Later in the day the florists came back to see all the hydrangea reduced to mush. Beside themselves they asked out loud "what happened??" I explained the difference and they rushed back to the shop to get the proper hydrangea for the job.
Phewww, disaster adverted, lesson learned:)
And now you are armed with a little more knowledge!
Blessings,
Melissa
