Yippeeeeeeee! we turned 10,000. Not our age but page views or web site visits. Our little counter has been diligently working away keeping track of visitor numbers and though we are well aware we have clients which visit our site many times over the course of their engagement we still feel excited to see that number turn over.
So YIPPEE! we feel blessed and flattered you are sharing our site and that you keep coming back to see what we are up too!
Thanks !
much love,
Melissa

Rich bride Poor bride our 15 mins
Rich Bride Poor Bride, yep, you either love it or hate it but none the less we had our 15 mins of fame recently when a client of ours was on the show. Now, from an insiders perspective the show is very scripted and most scenes are set up and played out . I must say our bride and groom did a fantastic job and who wouldn't want a free wedding planner with a chance to win a great honeymoon! For Adam and Nicole we created the bouquets, boutonnieres, ceremony decor plus head table arrangement. We used seasonal peegee hydrangea and warm white roses. The shows table centres were put together by the planners and were a nice compliment to the wedding theme. We were invited to the floral auction for the shooting but declined since we did not want to give any bride the perception we'd take all our brides to shop at will for flowers at the clock. We just can't do that, it is not realistic to think the product you want will actually be available. We would have a lot of disappointed brides if we worked this way !
The truth is we place our orders about 1 month in advance in order to gain priority on the product that comes in for the week of the wedding.
Around the world at one time there is only so much product which can be cut in a week. Only a portion of that comes to Ontario and we have thousands of florist looking for the same wedding flowers every week. Whomever orders first is the winner of what comes in.! soooo we like to plan ahead!
You can still catch it on the Slice Network so be sure to look for Nicole and Adams episode .. the one with the fire truck.

Fusion Flowers Mag.
It has been a little while but I have a bunch of neat things to tell you about.
Let's start with Fusion Flowers. A European floral design mag of very upscale floral designs blogged our urn tip for their world to see. This publication is mainly for florists though I am sure hobbyist subscribe as well. Out of wedding season we specialize in subscription arrangements. One of our biggest ventures (other than weddings) is teaching courses on, and creating custom urn's for Fall, Winter and Spring. We do this for local businesses and a local garden centre.
Ontario has a bit of a particular climate and the needs of an out door arrangement vary depending on the weather. Over the years we have tried many things and have come up with a few "Hot Tips" for designing and sustaining beautiful out door designs.
We shared one of our hot tips with Fusion and they added it to "The Did you know" section.
We think that is so fun! perhaps it will help another florist in England during the winter season.
You can see the link to the blog on our main page.
Don;t forget to ask us about our courses come November, it is a great girls nite out which is usually run on a week nite so it will not interfere with your weekends.
Blessings,
Melissa

Passionate red in Old Scotland ... sort of
The weather set the tone for a classic Scottish castle wedding but here in Hamilton!
A moody day of threatening rain brought to life "an old castle" ambiance complete with candlelit tables in one of Hamilton's beautiful old buildings.

Our gorgeous bride Jackie carried a full bouquet of red roses with silver, pearl and diamond accent's tucked between the petals.
Each of her maids carried accent bouquets ( 6 - 7 inches in diameter) of warm white roses complete with an ivory & red ribbon handle treatment.
Large bell vases of white snapdragons and white hydrangea were placed on top of white gloss pillars as altar decor.
Jackie's guests were treated to full poses of red roses in an elegant rippled glass vase surrounded by candles on each table.
For now we have some pictures before delivery but I hope to replace with more from the wedding day.
Enjoy!

Hi Melissa,
I just wanted to thank you so much for making the wedding flowers so beautiful. Now that everything has calmed down a bit I can sit and thank my vendors. The bouquets were great! They were perfect size for the party and I loved all the ranunculus's - they are officially my favourite flower now.
Thanks for all your patience. You did a great job with everything! I will definitely drop your name to my girlfriends when they all start getting married. From the sounds of my friends I may have openned some flood gates :D
Thank you so much again,
All the best,
Cheers,
April

Confessions of a florist - It might be true
You could say it with accuracy, it may not be nice but it is true. I am really picky, picky about my flowers and as I have found out over the years, picky about photographers.
I have worked as a florist since I was 16 years old and I have seen many wedding photos over the years, mostly shared by brides I've had the pleasure of working for. My website is comprise of beautiful photos of flowers, they are very important to me and important to my business, they are what has drawn you here.
Often I take photos but to be truthful, the last two years Saturday morning weather has not been kind for photo taking.. not with my little point and shoot camera. I have come to rely on my clients wedding photographers to capture my work.
Each arrangement is a piece of my heart made into a floral designs. I only take weddings which I will truly enjoy working on, ones which inspire or intrigue me.
I am not a "stuff" kind of girl. "Things" - you can't take them with you. I give most "things" away when I no longer need them ... but my floral designs, I want to keep them close to me ... perhaps that is pride.. but I want to have them beautifully captured by wonderful photographers and I want to share them with you. I have about 4 favourite photographers - 2 male, 2 female, they all service different areas of Ontario - Milton, Halton, London, Cambridge, Hamilton - Toronto. you can find them on my site under "Extraordinary Vendors" on our menu page.
Today I have received some photos from a past wedding, my designs were captured by the talented Jennifer Cavagna and I believe they are stunning!
Jennifer is the author of some of my most favourite portfolio photos. I was pointed to her work a few years back and I just love to scroll through her website and blog to see the beauty she captures.. whether it is my client or not :). I enjoy her work.
Let me share my new portfolio photos with you !
Thank you Jennifer, I look forward to seeing you Sunday May 16th at your open house.

In the garden
The weather has been beautiful. Saturday's have been somewhat kind to us with small passing rain showers and the peaking out of the sun. We are inspired by the garden centres popping up with the lush green vegetation and scents of spring. Our aim this year is to bring you more garden inspired feminine arrangements. We will post pictures when ever we can of the weddings we are working on and the subscription arrangements we have been sending out. Yep, Mulder florals offer subscriptions. Our most popular is the winter subscription which begins in November and runs till April. One arrangement a month is delivered to you or a loved one to be enjoyed. It is really nice in those gardenless months to have the beauty of flowers around you. This months subscription arrangement was sent in our very feminine milk glass vase. The scented geranium was a huge hit and is very long lasting. Each month we dig deep to find interesting vessels and flowers to give you something amazing and unique. We deliver each arrangement to home or office and pick up the previous months vase, you can of course purchase the vase if you really love it and want to use it for your own designs.
Enjoy this months arrangement foto and think about giving a subscription to Mom for a birthday, Christmas, or next Mothers day . Our subscriptions are very flexible so you can start it when ever you like. Also pictured is our Mothers day vase featuring apricot poppies tulips, stock and geranium!

They are cymbidium orchids, dendrobium orchids, button mums ( 2 flower girls) spidermums, green roses, green chincher, & green carns. Enjoy! Oh yes, I forgot to tell you the girls were in eggplant dresses ! LOVELY!
